Hope Lingard, daughter of Jesse Lingard, took part in a Corinthians women’s training session on Thursday during her first trip to Brazil. She had landed in the country on Wednesday afternoon.
According to Meu Timao, the seven-year-old joined in passing drills, struck a free-kick and scored a penalty past Vic Albuquerque before being engulfed in a celebratory huddle. Corinthians later posted footage of the visit on their social channels.
She is expected to be at the Fazendinha on Friday when Corinthians face Ferroviária at 19:00 in the Paulista Feminino. During the visit, midfielder Gabi Zanotti invited the youngster to walk out alongside her.
Jesse Lingard watched from the sidelines, then stepped onto the pitch after the session to dance the Passinho do Jamal with the players.
Hope lives in England and wants to follow her father into football. She regularly shares training clips on social media, undertakes private sessions and represents Cameroon Doherty Coaching (CDC Academy).
Jesse is a keen supporter, attending her training and matches when he is in England. He also posts videos of the pair working out together.
