La Liga giants Barcelona were forced to wave goodbye to a potential bonus payment included in the deal which sent Vitor Roque back to his home country of Brazil earlier this year.
As much comes after Palmeiras were sent packing from the Club World Cup.
Brazilian heavyweights Palmeiras were back in action on Saturday, locking horns with Premier League side Chelsea in the quarter-finals of the Club World Cup.
The aforementioned Vitor Roqu featured from the off in the clash, but was unable to make a telling impact en route to an eventual 2-1 defeat.
And as alluded to above, owing to as much, Barcelona missed out on what would have been a welcome financial boost.
As per a report from Mundo Deportivo, two of the five million euros’ worth of add-ons included in Roque’s sale to Palmeiras were based around ‘if ‘Tigrinho’ was chosen as one of the three best players at this Club World Cup’.
With as much no longer possible, the Camp Nou brass can therefore bid farewell to this potential cash injection.
