The Premier League title contenders have held a long-standing interest in the Lancashire side's youngster, who has made waves in the footballing world with his record in front of goal at the tender age of 17.

Tyjon made his Championship debut for Blackburn last season - a feat that he wanted to achieve before leaving Ewood Park - in a September contest against Bristol City, as a 16-year-old. He featured for the club's first team for the second time when he came off the bench against Sunderland in the latter stages of the campaign.

Earlier in the summer, Arsenal made a bid for the teenager that was reported to be worth £1 million plus add-ons, as per Alan Nixon, but Rovers felt the offer didn't match up to their valuation of Tyjon.

Blackburn turn down second Arsenal offer for teenage sensation Tyjon

The Athletic have now revealed that the Gunners have had a second offer for the 17-year-old turned down by his Championship club. The value of their latest offering has not been stated.

Arsenal have been successful in another bit of EFL transfer business, though. MK Dons' goalkeeper, Remi Lupinski, 16, has agreed to move to the north London side, as per The Athletic.

Tyjon has been linked with fellow mega-club Manchester United in the past, although their top-flight rivals are the ones that are really pushing hard to make a deal with Valerien Ismael's side for the player.

An England under-17 international, Tyjon has been playing above his age group at club level for the past couple of seasons. In 10 appearances and seven starts for Blackburn's under-21s side, who play in the first division of the Premier League 2, the Southport-born player has scored six times.

There are less than 12 months left on his scholarship deal with the Championship side, but he is now eligible to receive his professional deal after turning 17 in May.

Blackburn want to hold onto him as he is considered to be a first-team player, according to the Lancashire Telegraph. Now they need to convince him to agree to a pro contract, if they're unwilling to sell him for the price that Arsenal are offering.

Igor Tyjon interest presents Blackburn with a really hard decision

It's a tough balancing act for clubs like Rovers. Their youngsters will want to play at the highest possible level, but if they can offer him potential first-team minutes, that might be enough to convince Tyjon to stick around at Ewood Park for a little bit longer.

Until they tie him down to a new agreement, Blackburn will be running the risk of him leaving for nothing more than training compensation, which would be devastating.

They need to decide at what point it becomes better to potentially offload the teenager, rather than risking the gut-wrenching scenario of seeing him walk out the door for a minimal fee in a year's time.
