Chelsea return to European action on Wednesday night with little room for error as they welcome Pafos FC to Stamford Bridge in the Champions League.

The Blues sit just outside the automatic qualification places, three points away from the top eight with only two games to play.

Stamford Bridge has been a reliable base in Europe, with Chelsea winning all three of their home games.

Manager Liam Rosenior will be keen to extend that run to four in a row in a fixture where his Chelsea side are considered overwhelming favourites.

Rosenior is set to make his Champions League debut for Chelsea, having already been thrown into Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup action.

Chelsea have picked up 10 points from six games – a run that includes a memorable 3-0 win over Barcelona.

It’s now up to Rosenior to try and guide the Blues into the top eight, and winning tonight’s home clash with Pafos increases their chances of making that happen.

How Chelsea could line up

Rosenior could view the game against Pafos as an opportunity to rotate the squad as Chelsea navigate a jam-packed January schedule.

There’s a decent chance that the Englishman could make several changes from the team that claimed a 2-0 win over Brentford last time out.

Filip Jorgensen could start ahead of Robert Sanchez despite the speculation surrounding his future.

With Tosin Adarabioyo out for a few weeks, Benoit Badiashile and Wesley Fofana could partner at centre-back with Josh Acheampong and Jorrel Hato as full-backs.

Dario Essugo may finally make his first appearance of the season alongside Andrey Santos in midfield. The 20-year-old joined the club last year.

Jamie Gittens, Joao Pedro, and Estevao should also line up behind striker Liam Delap.
