The Hammers are preparing for their first Championship campaign since 2012 after coming 18th in the top flight.

Nuno Espírito Santo’s side missed out on safety by just two points, but will now be targeting promotion straight back at the first attempt.

Bowen has been a key figure at the London Stadium since making the move from Hull City in the 2020 January transfer window.

He is one of several important players who could depart the London outfit this summer, with uncertainty also surrounding the likes of Mateus Fernandes and Crysencio Summerville.

The transfer window is now open, and will run until 1 September, and it will likely be a busy period for the Championship side.

It has been reported by Talksport that Daniel Kretinsky is optimistic that Bowen will remain with West Ham beyond the transfer window.

The Czech businessman is set to become the club’s new majority shareholder following an agreement with the Gold family.

And he is putting plans in place already for what direction to take the team under his control, and Bowen could now be central to that.

It’s understood that West Ham don’t expect to generate the same kind of market for Bowen that is already forming around Fernandes and Summerville.

This has led to optimism that he will remain with the club, with his contract running until June 2030, giving the Irons plenty of leverage in any upcoming transfer negotiations.

Fernandes has been linked with a move to Manchester United, with West Ham holding out for a fee worth £80 million.

Meanwhile, the club are reportedly seeking £50 million in order to cash in on Summerville.

Bowen contributed nine goals and 11 assists in the Premier League last season, but it wasn’t enough to keep West Ham in the division.

He played in all 38 of their fixtures, starting on each occasion, proving his value as captain.

The 29-year-old signed for West Ham in a deal worth £18 million, and he has been a mainstay in the side in the six years since his arrival.

The forward has made 231 Premier League appearances for the Irons, and also played a crucial role in their UEFA Conference League triumph in 2023.

Jarrod Bowen staying would be massive for West Ham

Bowen is a Premier League calibre player, and it would be well within reason for him to make the move back to the top flight this summer.

So if West Ham can keep him, then that will be a huge boost for their promotion hopes as there is no doubt he will be a lethal threat in the Championship.

Bowen has endeared himself to fans since joining in 2020, and has become a modern club legend, and he would cement that legacy even further by staying and playing a role in promotion success.

Given his contract situation, his age, and the market out there for other players, West Ham are in a strong position and shouldn’t feel the need to sell Bowen unless he demands for a move away.
