Corinthians announced on Sunday night the loan of João Pedro Tchoca to Torino until July 2026 for 1.5 million euros, including a 4.5 million euros obligation to buy, according to Meu Timao.
The clause triggers only if he plays at least 10 matches for the Italians, with a minimum of 45 minutes in each, before the end of the European season. Torino still have at least 17 fixtures for him to meet the threshold.
The deal carries up to 1 million euros in bonuses, taking the package to roughly R$ 43.8 million for Corinthians. The Brazilian club will also receive 12% of any capital gain if Torino sell him in future.
Torino sit 16th in the Italian league on 23 points from 22 games. Three clubs go down, and they are six points clear of Fiorentina, who occupy the highest relegation place. They remain in the Coppa Italia, facing Internazionale in a single-leg quarter-final.
Defensively they have struggled, conceding 42 goals in 25 matches this season, so have moved to reinforce. Before Tchoca arrived, centre-back options were Saúl Coco, Guilherme Maripán, Saba Sazonov, Ardian Ismajili, Adam Masina and Perr Schuurs.
Ismajili, Masina and Schuurs are injured, which could hand the Brazilian immediate minutes. Coach Marco Baroni prefers a back three and has at times redeployed full-backs to cover.
Torino were beaten 6-0 by Como on Saturday. With no European commitments, Baroni has a free week to work, and Tchoca could debut at home to Lecce on Sunday in matchweek 23.
