Real Madrid and England superstar Jude Bellingham has reacted to his younger brother Jobe scooping up the Championship Young Player of the Year award this past weekend.
The younger Bellingham brother has been one of the shining lights of Sunderland's season in the Championship, albeit they are currently on a poor run of form with just one point gained from their last five matches.
Despite that though, Jobe has been recognised for his seasonal achievements and development by landing the prestigious EFL award at a ceremony on Sunday, beating Burnley defender CJ Egan-Riley and Sheffield Wednesday's Southampton loanee Shea Charles to the gong.
Jobe Bellingham, whilst he is a top talent in his own right, is seemingly a year or two behind his older brother when it comes to their development at similar ages.
Now 19, Jobe is a key player at a promotion-chasing Championship side, whereas when he was 19, Jude was in his final season with Borussia Dortmund, cementing himself as one of the Bundesliga's best players before his move to Real Madrid.
Nevertheless, Jobe is still showing the quality he possesses himself, hence why he landed the EFL prize, and after scooping up his latest award, Jude hailed his brother via Instagram, saying that he "deserved" to win it over Egan-Riley and Charles.
Interestingly, Burnley defender Egan-Riley also responded to Bellingham's post with a shaking hands emoji after being pipped to the award, showing respect for his England under-21 teammate.
Whilst he hasn't developed quite as quickly as his older brother, Jobe is definitely heading in the right direction when it comes to his future.
He won't be 20 years old until just after the summer transfer window closes, and if Sunderland don't go up through the play-offs and return to the Premier League, it's hard to envisage him still being a Black Cat come his birthday month of September.
English clubs will be monitoring him like a hawk, and there's likely going to be interest from all over Europe too - seeing how Jude developed at Borussia Dortmund though, Germany could be a potential destination for Jobe.
