That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who have on Sunday provided an insight into the situation.

The subject of personnel concerns has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the course of the last 48 hours.

This comes after, first, Pedri picked up a knee injury whilst lining out for Spain at Euro 2024.

Then, barely 24 hours later, the Blaugrana were dealt a 2nd blow, upon Ronald Araújo being forced out of Uruguay’s Copa América meeting with Brazil.

Both are now in line for spells on the sidelines, Pedri for as many as six weeks, and Araújo, if reports are to be believed, for eight.

And, owing to as much, Barcelona will be in line for financial compensation.

In the case of the former, as much will come by way of UEFA, whilst the latter’s will be paid by FIFA, via CONMEBOL.

A breakdown of the situation, as per MD, is highlighted below:

‘The coverage is based on providing compensation, based on the player’s fixed salary, to football clubs in the event that footballers playing in this Euro Cup are injured and “lasting more than 28 consecutive days, as a result of bodily injury caused by an accident during the operational time of the matches”.’

The sum in question can amount to a maximum of €20,548-per-day.

Should Pedri, for example, miss six weeks, Barca would be entitled to around two weeks’ worth of compensation.

In the case of Araújo sitting out eight weeks, meanwhile, the Blaugrana would receive a further four weeks of payments from CONMEBOL.
