Juventus have completed the sale of Douglas Luiz to Nottingham Forest for a total fee of €28m plus up to €3.5m in add-ons, meaning they’ll make a significant loss a year on from his Aston Villa purchase.
As always, the Bianconeri have to release clear and precise financial disclosures of every transfer because the club is floated on the stock exchange.
This allows analysts to have an accurate picture of their activity and the profits or losses made on certain players.

We know that his move from Aston Villa last summer was valued at €50m, even if technically €20m of that was made up of an exchange with Samuel Iling-Junior and Enzo Barrenechea going to England.
The sale to Nottingham Forest on Thursday was a loan at €3m with obligation to buy if certain conditions are met for a further €25m plus up to €3.5m in add-ons.
Calcio e Finanza calculated that while Juve will save on his €12m per season gross salary and can include some amortisations to lower his impact on their finances, Douglas Luiz will remain a loss-making transfer.

Specifically, if the sale is completed in June 2026, the Brazilian will be registered as a loss of €4.2m on the 2025-26 balance sheet.
Even if all the performance-related bonuses of €3.5m are eventually paid, and that is by no means a guarantee, it still won’t wipe out the total negative impact he had on Juventus coffers.
Douglas Luiz made just 27 competitive appearances for Juventus, failing to contribute to a single goal.
