We look at season ticket prices at Birmingham, Aston Villa, Wolves and West Brom ahead of the 2025/26 season.
After a generally bleak period, football clubs in the West Midlands are in a healthy position right now.
Aston Villa are the standout club in the region at the moment, with Unai Emery’s men set for Europa League football next season, whilst Wolves are gearing up for an eighth consecutive season in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, in the Championship, there’s optimism at West Brom following a change in ownership earlier this year, along with the arrival of Ryan Mason. And, Birmingham City are on a hugely exciting upward trajectory since Tom Wagner and his US group bought the club.
That’s reflected in the attendances at the four clubs, as they all shift the majority of their tickets for every game.
However, when it comes to pricing, there is a big difference, and here we outline the costs of season tickets at Villa, Wolves, West Brom and Blues.
Villa fans have been unhappy with the price rises over the past few years, although they do appreciate the remarkable progress the team has made under their current ownership.
With a huge waiting list of around 45,000, fans know that if they don’t renew, others are waiting to take their place, and that is reflected in the expensive pricing, which has gone up again for next season.
For renewals, adults will pay anything from £672 to £972, with those in the Holte End behind the goal generally forking out £804 or £859.
Another Premier League club, Wolves fans have also been unhappy with the rising ticket prices over the years.
That anger resulted in chairman Jeff Shi agreeing to a price freeze for the 2025/26 season last year, and he has been good to his word, as they haven’t gone up, even if they are still expensive.
An adult season ticket ranges from £525 to £939 at Molineux, although that is slightly misleading, as the cheapest ticket comes in a very small stand that is uncovered. For tickets in the main four stands, the cheapest is £735 for an adult.
Those in the South Bank and North Bank behind the goals will pay £735, which equates to just over £38.50 per game.
As you would expect, Albion’s prices in the Championship are cheaper than their bitter rivals, and the Baggies did put the prices up under new owner Shilen Patel.
Nevertheless, they are still very reasonable, with adult season tickets ranging from £419 to £519, with those behind both goals paying the lower end of that.
Like all clubs, Albion have different categories depending on your age, but they deserve particular credit for the U14 pricing, as they pay £23 for the season, which obviously works out at £1 a game.
They also have a category that goes from 20-25, which is unlike many rivals, who generally stop at 21, and that brings a considerable discount too, with season tickets from £219, meaning West Brom are very impressive with the overall pricing and the way they treat supporters.
St. Andrew’s is rocking and regularly sold out now that Birmingham are flying under their ambitious US owners.
Now, back in the Championship, Blues have very reasonable pricing, with adult season ticket prices ranging from £320 to £615 for those that are renewing.
Those in the Gil Merrick behind the goal will spend £435 on a season ticket, whilst those in the Tilton Road can pay from £415 to £450.
