Gustavo Hamer has been linked with a move away from Sheffield United, and the Blades have issued their valuation to an interested club.

Sheffield United will be looking to add to their squad ahead of the 2026/27 league campaign, which looks set to be in the Championship once again.

The Blades endured a tough start to the 2025/26 season, with Chris Wilder stepping back into the dugout at Bramall Lane after Ruben Selles' disastrous spell in charge of the club.

They're currently sat 17th in the Championship table, and will be eager to end their four-game winless run when the squad return from the international break.

It wouldn't be too surprising to see the Sheffield United boss moving some players on during the summer, whilst also having to field calls from other clubs for players that he might not be too keen on potentially selling.

Gustavo Hamer is one of those that has previously been linked with a move away from Bramall Lane, and interested parties could potentially come back in for the midfielder, and there's been a development on his rumoured departure.

It's been recently revealed by Turkish media outlet, Kuzey Expres that Trabzonspor are set to reignite their interest in signing Hamer this summer, although it remains to be seen whether an agreement can be reached to land the midfielder's signature.

The same report outlines that any potential deal could cost in the region of €20 million (£17.2 million), and it'll be interesting to see whether the Turkish side will get anywhere near Sheffield United's valuation of Hamer.

Trabzonspor had previously tabled an offer of £6million, but for one reason or another, a deal couldn't be reached between both clubs earlier this season.

Kuzey Expres also credits Nottingham Forest, Everton, and Fulham with interest in Hamer this summer, but it seems as though Trabzonspor are the frontrunners in the race to strike a deal with the Blades.

Transfer tussle for Hamer's signature

Trabzonspor aren't the only club that have been interested in a deal to sign Hamer, with the likes of Leeds United and PSV being amongst some of the clubs that have previously been keen on reaching an agreement for the midfielder.

Hamer signed for Sheffield United back in 2023 from Coventry City, having caught the eye with many a strong performance for the Sky Blues.

The 28-year-old has impressed with the Blades this season, chipping in with four goals and 11 assists for Chris Wilder's side this term, and he'll fancy his chances of adding to that tally before this year's campaign reaches a conclusion.

Trabzonspor’s manager Fatih Tekke is said to have been impressed with Hamer's versatility across the midfield, although the same report outlines that it remains unclear as to whether the Turkish Super Lig side will be anywhere near Sheffield United's rumoured valuation.

Hamer is contracted with Sheffield United until the summer of 2027, and with the Blades valuing the former Dutch youth international at such a high valuation, they're clearly not keen to lose him ahead of the 2026/27 league campaign.
