La Liga giants Real Madrid could indirectly aid arch rivals Barcelona in the latter’s pursuit of a leading transfer target this summer.

That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Luis Díaz as the player in question.

Wide-man Díaz has of course been hotly tipped to make the move to Catalunya’s capital across the summer to date.

After coming up short in efforts to bring in Nico Williams from Athletic Club, Barcelona have underlined the name of the Colombian international in red.

To date, holding up any potential deal for Díaz has been the stance of Liverpool, who have made clear that as things stand, the former Porto man is simply not for sale.

This, however, is where Real Madrid could position themselves in the fray…

As revealed by MD, Liverpool boast a ‘very strong’ interest in bringing in Blancos frontman Rodrygo over the weeks ahead.

In the case of the Santiago Bernabéu brass sanctioning the Brazilian’s move to Anfield, Liverpool would then be expected to open the doors to an exit for Luis Díaz.
