The Bees are expected to be on the lookout for a new head coach shortly, with Frank lined up to succeed Ange Postecoglou at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and a deal is now expected to be very close to completion.

Once that is finalised, Brentford will be on the lookout for a new boss, and journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Parker is on a three-man shortlist for the role.

Scott Parker not pushing to leave Burnley amid Brentford interest

Yet, the same update stated that Parker is ‘happy at the club’, so it’s unlikely that he will push to leave Brentford.

Even though Brentford would be a step-up in the sense that they’re now an established top-flight club, you can understand why Parker is content at Turf Moor.

Alan Pace gave Parker a job when his reputation had suffered following his time at Bournemouth and a short stint at Club Brugge, and he backed him with a good team in the Championship last season.

To his credit, Parker got a lot out of the group, but he will feel he can keep the Clarets in the Premier League next season, even if it will be a big ask.

Burnley will want a quick resolution to the managerial situation

This is not the news that Burnley wanted following their promotion, as plans will already be in place as to how they will strengthen the group.

Obviously, Parker is central to those, and losing him would set them back ahead of what is a pivotal transfer window.

The club needs to be smart with the money they spend, and they must target quality additions with top-flight experience. Of course, Parker will know that, and he will be determined to show he can manage in the Premier League after suffering a relegation with Fulham earlier in his managerial career.

So, it’s pleasing for Burnley fans to hear that he is happy at the club, although if Brentford formalise their interest with a firm offer, it would be interesting to see if his stance changes.
