New York City FC is unbeaten in their first four games of the 2026 Major League Soccer season. Despite not having a true starting striker due to Alonso Martínez’s ACL tear, the Boys in Blue have scored 11 goals. Eight have come in the last two matches thanks to the 5-0 win over Orlando City SC and the 3-1 win against the Colorado Rapids. There is hope that they will be okay as the season progresses, but the next fixture is a huge test.
This weekend, NYCFC will welcome Inter Miami CF to the Bronx. The two sides will meet for the first time since the Herons absolutely destroyed the Pigeons in the Eastern Conference Finals. In fact, one can argue that this game is extremely dangerous and daunting for the home side. In the last two meetings, they have given up nine goals to the Florida side, losing 5-1 and 4-0. Sure, in the past, the series was dominated by the Pigeons, and there have even been some draws in the Lionel Messi era.
Alas, the past is the past, and NYCFC cannot focus on those two games. Instead, they must take what they have done so far this season and aim to produce one of their best performances of the year. Plus, Miami is not all-powerful at this time, for they have scored just one goal in their last three matches in all competitions. All of the fixtures ended in draws, and two of those draws led Nashville SC to knock the Herons out of the CONCACAF Champions Cup.
In other words, NYCFC could take advantage of Miami’s recent struggles, and the Boys in Blue could easily use the home advantage and their hot streak to continue the unbeaten streak. Nevertheless, the visitors are still threatening. The Bronx side must be at the top of their game.

NYCFC supporters can go right to Yankee Stadium to catch the match.
If NYCFC fans cannot watch or listen to the game, then they can follow along via MLS Soccer’s timeline and NYCFC’s X account. Additionally, the club will post updates here and there on Facebook.
Like many Miami games around the league, a larger crowd is expected. As such, fans should make sure that they arrive early to ensure that everyone has time to enter the stadium and get to their seats before kickoff. In addition, knowing that some people will be there for Messi, this would be a great time for NYCFC to try to get a few more supporters for the club.
