Spurs must shake off West Ham defeat to boost chances of qualification in Europe
Tottenham face another tricky Champions League test tonight with the visit of Borussia Dortmund.
From the high of ending 2025 with a win over Crystal Palace, to the miserable low of a disastrous defeat at home to West Ham, head coach Thomas Frank has faced even more questions about his future.
Dumped out of the FA Cup at the third round, losing their last two home games, on a run of three consecutive losses and languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League table, it has been a really poor start to 2026 for Spurs.
However, three wins and two draws from six games is a favourable return in the Champions League, so much so that they are in with a chance of securing a top-eight finish.
After the visit of Dortmund, it is a trip to Eintracht Frankfurt for Spurs to complete the league phase. Back-to-back wins over German opposition could then spark a change of fortunes and provide a positive outlook for the remainder of the campaign.
That said, Dortmund head to north London in good form. Unbeaten in seven across all competitions, winning four, the Bundesliga side are also seeking a top-eight finish and can take a giant step towards doing so tonight.
