West Ham are trying to bring N’Golo Kante back from Saudi Arabia. New manager Julen Lopetegui is a long-term admirer and it’s no secret the World Cup winner would add valuable experience to the Hammers midfield next season.

If you think I’m trying to sell the idea of Kante signing for West Ham, it’s because I am – with the glimmer of hope it sends the Saudi Pro League into thinking they need a new 30+ year-old defender to protect their defenders.

Manchester United need to find a buyer for Casemiro and there has not been a lot of interest in the Brazilian’s signature.

Kante, who moved to Saudi Arabia in 2023 after seven years with Chelsea, is thought to be happy with his current club (and salary no doubt), but The Guardian claims he is open to returning to London.

The report adds that West Ham would need to pay in the region of £20m to sign Kante.

That kind of money could see the Saudi clubs change their tune on Casemiro.

According to Sky Sports, Saudi Pro League clubs are reconsidering making a move for the former Real Madrid star.

Will Kante’s potential sale make them think again?
