Tottenham Hotspur have received a major boost in the race to sign Dusan Vlahovic.

Several Premier League clubs are thought to be interested in signing the 25-year-old striker, including Spurs, Manchester United and Chelsea.

Bayern have been linked with a move for Vlahovic in recent months, but it appears they have cooled their interest in the Serbian.

What’s the latest about Dusan Vlahovic?

After enjoying a productive spell for Fiorentina, Vlahovic moved to Juventus in the January window of 2022.

The striker has scored 62 goals in all competitions for the Old Lady, including four this season, but his long-term future at the club is in doubt.

The former Partizan striker is out of contract at the end of the season, and several clubs are vying for his signature.

Christian Falk has informed CFBayern that Tottenham are interested in signing him, while Premier League clubs are keen.

Bayern are NOT prepared to open talks for him at the moment, although the club reportedly made some contact with the player’s representatives.

Falk told CFBayern: “It is TRUE: Dušan Vlahović is no longer part of the club’s transfer plans, for the moment.

“There was interest in the Serbian, but I think the club’s thought process at the moment is revolving around Harry Kane’s brilliant form and performances. Having two big strikers at the club isn’t always so easy, as Vlahović will undoubtedtly want frequent game time as well, and he’d want a big salary, even as a free agent.

“The other thing we heard is that many Premier League clubs are behind them, Tottenham is leading the race. Manchester United and Chelsea are also interested. So, you know, if such clubs are already at the table, it then becomes a question of moneu (potentially a lot of money).”

If Bayern Munich could get Vlahović as a free agent and say, “Hey, perhaps you don’t earn as much,” there would have been a chance. But with these clubs at the table, FC Bayern are not prepared to open talks at the moment.”

Right decision from Bayern?

The Bavarian giants paid a handsome transfer fee to sign Nicolas Jackson on loan from Chelsea this summer. The striker has failed to make an impact, and doubts remain whether Bayern will make any effort to sign him permanently next summer.

Harry Kane has said several times in the past few months that he is enjoying his time at Bayern, and there could be a possibility that he might extend his stay at the club.

Bayern will require another striker next summer, even if Kane stays, but it makes sense for them to pull out of the race for Vlahovic, especially when Tottenham and other Premier League clubs can offer him a lot of money.
