Hugo Moura could leave Vasco in this transfer window after receiving an offer from a Japanese club, with talks in progress over a possible exit, according to Globo.com.
He is under contract only until the end of the year, and the club had opened discussions over a renewal. If no deal is concluded this window, he can sign a pre-contract with another team from July. The Japanese offer includes a pay rise.
People close to the player consider him strongly attached to the club and say his initial preference is to stay. His wife recently gave birth to the couple’s third child, and the family is settled in Rio de Janeiro.
The coaching staff rate Hugo Moura as important, citing his versatility and the limited midfield options available.
He has played 11 times in the Campeonato Brasileiro and has not reached the CBF threshold. As a result, he could still represent another club in this season’s domestic competition if an offer arrives.
