Hull substitutes combine late to climb to third

Hull City beat Blackburn Rovers 1-0 at Ewood Park to rise from fourth to third in the Championship.
Lewis Koumas turned in Kyle Joseph's pass in the 81st minute for the decisive moment, the pair combining shortly after coming off the bench.
Ivor Pandur saved from Adam Forshaw and Yuki Ohashi as Blackburn pressed after the restart. Balazs Toth had earlier denied Regan Slater and Liam Millar to keep the game level.
Blackburn were forced into a change at the break when Ryan Alebiosu went off injured and Lewis Miller came on, with Andri Gudjohnsen and Dion De Neve later introduced in search of a breakthrough.
Blackburn had 62% possession and delivered 40 crosses but could not find a finish. Hull registered 11 attempts and made 57 clearances in a disciplined away display.
Blackburn stay 22nd in the relegation zone. Next, Blackburn host Sheffield Wednesday. Hull host Watford.
