Lyon’s hierarchy, mindful of having avoided the worst last season, are mapping a measured sporting plan for the campaign ahead built on prudence, youth development and shrewd recruitment.

According to Le Progres, supporters saw a week dominated by the now official takeover by new owner Michele Kang, while the sporting brief remained a parallel priority.

The DNCG has cleared the club to restart in Ligue 1 in August, a decision welcomed inside OL.

Having exited Eagle Football’s multiclub structure, the club has reverted to its former standalone identity, OL Groupe, and intends to continue living within its means.

The direction is to persist with what has been started, prioritising the development of young players, targeting good-value moves in the market and keeping faith in the club’s ambition, an approach that worked well last season.
