Manchester United and Manchester City played a dull 0-0 draw at Old Trafford.

With both team desperate to win points, they failed to create any moment of magic in the boring 90 minutes today.

It clearly showed that both teams were lacking quality to make any difference in the match.

While Man United had most of their creative players on display apart from Amad Diallo, City were without their star striker Erling Haaland and they missed him.

The draw takes Man United to 13th position in the league while Man City are 5th, one point behind fourth placed Chelsea as they fight for a place in the Champions League next season.

Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville blamed the two managers; Ruben Amorim and Pep Guardiola for the dull affair at Old Trafford.

Neville feels that both the managers micro-managed their sides and that resulted in the poor match between the two Manchester rivals.

Neville said:

“The congratulations and love-in that I’m watching at the full-time whistle tells you that both teams are happy with a 0-0.

“The best Manchester United and Manchester City teams would be very disappointed at the end of that game with the way they approached it.

“They have been micro-managed to within an inch of their lives. It was so robotic.

“It wasn’t good enough and I am disappointed. It’s a Manchester derby and it should have more blood, thunder and risk than that.”

Gary Neville is rightly upset with the football at Old Trafford

More than a match in the Premier League, it felt like a pre-season friendly between both the sides for a large part of the game.

They were lacking creative quality in their team despite having players like Bruno Fernandes, Kevin De Bruyne, Phil Foden and Alejandro Garnacho on the pitch.

It showed that both teams need a big summer transfer window and need fresh faces to solve their problems.

Perhaps United were the better side and made the most chaces out of the two but it was still not enough to win the game.
