“I see” – Cesar Azpilicueta reveals his honest thoughts on current Chelsea side

Chelsea legend Cesar Azpilicueta has had his say on the current side and believes they play “beautiful football.”

The Blues recored their fourth league win of the season with a 3-0 win away at Nottingham Forest to move up to sixth in the Premier League.

Chelsea won the Club World Cup and the Conference League last season, and the expectation is to once again secure Champions League football and go on deep runs in the cup competitions.

The Blues have a very young squad, and whilst they arguably aren’t ready to challenge for a Premier League title, there are signs of progress.

Chelsea have shown on their day they can beat the best teams in the world, they just lack the consistency week in week out.

Chelsea appear to be heading in the right direction.

Azpilicueta, who captained the club to their second Champions League title in 2021, and made 508 appearances for the Blues believes the current team is getting stronger.

“I see a very young team that they play good football, and they are building that strength. Step by step, let’s see where they finish the season,” he told Win Win All Sports.

“They are back in the Champions League, which is something that Chelsea, we are used to playing in that competition.

“And from there, see how the group grows. But yeah, I still have a lot of friends and I keep in touch with a lot of people in the club.

“So I always watch the games as possible I can and I check the scores, and wish them the best, yeah.”
