“I was wrong” – Kris Boyd admits major Rangers truth

Regulars to Ibrox Noise will know that one thing that has really grinded our gears over the last month or so has been the number of about turns without acknowledgement that we have seen from both Rangers groups and Rangers pundits.
Gone are the days when all the Rangers pundits and groups were heavily backing Russell Martin to the downright abuse of anyone who wasn’t, and now these individuals are calling out Russell Martin and saying the Rangers manager must go.
The number of these is almost universal. Sites who we shall not name, who massively backed Martin originally, are now pretending they didn’t, and it is painful and hypocritical to watch it.
However, we give massive credit to the one single individual who has managed to not only turn his mood around and change his opinion, but has actually admitted he was wrong. Kris Boyd, we applaud you.
He must be the first public Rangers body to actually acknowledge that he backed Russell Martin and said, and we quote, he was a good appointment, to now admitting it hasn’t worked out and he needs to go.
Now, in all fairness, we don’t cover every single comment in the media, so it may well be that others who backed him, such as Andy Halliday, Barry Ferguson and Ally McCoist have also changed tact and may have admitted that they got it wrong, but we haven’t noticed that. Kris Boyd Rangers honesty shines.
But what really grinds our gears is these supposedly respected Rangers fan sites, who all to one told us to back the manager, to get behind him, no matter what.
But today are saying the exact opposite, that they were never behind that manager, and he must go. We do find this rank hypocrisy painful to witness.
It’s that revisionism that is winding us up. That these so-called fan sites, these respected fan authorities, previously preached, aggressively, to back the manager, back the team, that he was a good appointment, you name it, and now, in a complete about-turn, where they claim they never wanted him in the first place.
We find that embarrassing, but that’s just us. Ibrox Noise was the only group that did not and refused to back Russell Martin.
There were a few hardy souls among our number who also agreed, but the vast majority, at absolute best, simply said, we didn’t want him, but he’s here now, let’s suck it up and support the man.
That was the best we got. No, Ibrox Noise was the only one, the only group, that said no and that we would not tolerate this. Simple as that. Kris Boyd Rangers honesty stands apart.
And unfortunately, time has borne us to be correct. But of course, as we then notice, every other Rangers site and group claims a monopoly on the truth by suggesting or alleging that they were against Martin from the start.
If that is the case, they weren’t very public about it. Ibrox Noise was the only one who was.
But again, we’re getting away from the point. Kris Boyd has held his hands up to admit he was wrong, and we absolutely applaud that honesty, because we do know that many did get it wrong.
As we have said. But very, very few are admitting that. So take a bow, Mr Boyd.
