"I would like to stay," Nicolas Jackson sends a clear message to Chelsea
Nicolas Jackson has voiced his desire to continue his journey at Bayern Munich in an interview with German outlet BILD. The Senegalese forward, loaned from Chelsea this summer, is gearing up to face the London club this Wednesday, September 17, in the Champions League in Munich.
Nicolas Jackson joined Bayern Munich on loan with a purchase option after a turbulent end to the season at Chelsea. The 24-year-old endured a tough spell in London, marked by suspensions, a dip in form, and gradually being sidelined from the first team.
Bayern seized the opportunity at the end of the transfer window, securing a paid loan with a buyout clause contingent on a minimum number of starts. Jackson arrived in Munich with the ambition to reignite his career in a more stable environment. In his interview with BILD, he shared his ambitions.
"When Bayern calls and tells you they want you, you don’t think twice! (laughs). You’re just excited and ready to join them. Then, after the first talks with Max Eberl and especially with coach Kompany, I was 100% convinced it was the right decision for me. From the very first call, I felt a special connection with the coach," the Senegal international explained.
Asked by the German press, Jackson made it clear he wants to stay at Bayern for the long term.
"My goal is to give my very best here. Bayern is one of the best clubs in the world. If everything goes well and everyone is happy, of course I would like to stay. But for now, it’s all about the present: working hard and giving my all," he told BILD.
