Journalist Ben Jacobs has delivered a major update on the possibility of Everton star Iliman Ndiaye sealing a move to Manchester United in the summer.
United are bracing for another busy summer window and the attacking department is an area of the pitch they could look to reinforce, especially amidst the expected permanent exits of Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho.
In the wings, particularly, United have been mentioned to be eyeing additions, with the likes of Yan Diomande (RB Leipzig), Matheus Mane (Wolves), Anthony Gordon (Newcastle) and Ndiaye all on the club’s radar.
Ndiaye has undergone a remarkable resurgence at Everton following his 2024 arrival from Marseille. The forward has lit up the Premier League with his quick feet and skilful play, earning recognition as one of the division’s top attacking talents.
Reports have suggested that Everton will demand a fee in the region of £75m for their talismanic winger. It was stated that a sum of £55-65m would likely convince the Toffees to come to the negotiation table.
Earlier this month, Ndiaye sent United fans wild with speculation when he named Old Trafford as the best stadium he has ever played in.
However, the Red Devils appear poised for disappointment, with Ben Jacobs revealing that Everton will resist any offers for the 25-year-old. According to the journalist, Everton are considering offering the player a new deal to ward off interest from suitors.
Jacobs said [as quoted by GIVEMESPORT], “Everton’s perspective is the same as Jarrad Branthwaite. Manchester United bid multiple times for Branthwaite and Dan Friedkin and his team said ‘nope, we’re not selling.'”
“Everton don’t see themselves as a selling club.”
He added, “I think Ndiaye may look for a move, but I am actually under the impression from Everton sources that he’s going to be really difficult to get out of that football club this summer, and they might even offer him improved terms.”
While United may be encouraged by suggestions that Ndiaye might opt to depart the Hill Dickinson Stadium, the forward’s hands may be tied because he is on a long-term contract.
His terms run out in 2029, which means Everton are under no pressure whatsoever to offload him this summer.
United return to action on Sunday when they host Crystal Palace. The game kicks off at 2pm.
