‘I’m expecting the best Madrid’ – Sevilla boss explains why facing Real Madrid is always dangerous | OneFootball

Sevilla manager Luis Garcia Plaza is fully aware of the challenge waiting for his side as they prepare to host Real Madrid at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.

While Sevilla continue fighting to secure their objectives, the coach knows there will be no margin for error against a Madrid side still packed with elite-level quality despite an inconsistent campaign.

Speaking ahead of the fixture, Luis Garcia Plaza admitted that Real Madrid remain one of the most dangerous teams in world football regardless of form, motivation or league position.

Expects strongest version of Real Madrid

During his press conference, the Sevilla coach pointed towards Madrid’s recent performances as proof that Alvaro Arbeloa’s side remain capable of producing results even in difficult circumstances.

The manager referenced Madrid’s recent victory against Espanyol and highlighted the mentality that top teams possess during decisive moments of the season.

“Real Madrid recently played away at Espanyol, who were fighting for their lives, and they won. We’re talking about one of the best teams in the world.

“As a manager, I’ve beaten Guardiola’s Barcelona and Mourinho’s 100-point Real Madrid. 

“And even if you’re playing well, they have players who are capable of winning a match on their own.

“It’s true that the season hasn’t gone as they’d hoped, but I’m expecting the best Madrid. 

“Unless we play a great game, we’ll lose, because that’s only logical. If we struggle to beat anyone…”

The Sevilla boss also stressed that Real Madrid’s squad contains players capable of deciding matches without needing overall dominance. 

“They’re among the best players. They’re the sort of players capable of winning a match single-handedly. 

“The season hasn’t gone as they’d hoped, but if Real Madrid score two goals, that’s the game over.

“I’m expecting the best Madrid, and if we don’t put in a great performance, we’ll lose – that’s only natural,” he concluded.
