The Foxes could face a significant points deduction if they are found guilty of a PSR breach, amid their already dwindling hopes of making an immediate Premier League return, with three charges to be heard - breaching the PSR limit during the 2023-24 Championship-winning season; failing to file their annual accounts with the Premier League before the December 31 deadline, and for breaching an explicit rule in the League's handbook which gives all clubs an "obligation to provide full, complete and prompt assistance to the Premier League."

Leicester sacked former boss Marti Cifuentes after their defeat to Oxford United last Saturday, which left them 14th in the Championship table, six points adrift of the play-off places.

The King Power Stadium club host Charlton Athletic in their next league game, which is set to be overseen by ex-Foxes midfielder Andy King on an interim basis.

Leicester remain in the FA Cup, where they will face Southampton in the fourth round next month, while they continue to eye a top-six spot in the Championship.

More importantly, though, Foxes owner Khun Top revealed in an interview with Sky Sports News that he is worried about his club's upcoming PSR hearing, admitting that he's tried his best to keep the club financially-compliant with all rules.

The 40-year-old said: "I’m worried too. Every year, we try to comply with PSR, and the only year we don’t know what it is, the year we were relegated.

"When you don’t plan to relegate, it hits you hard. I cannot fix anymore, it’s the past. The rest of the seasons, we comply. I’m sure that a club like Leicester, everybody loved the story of what we are doing. When we try to comply, we are trying hard."

Srivaddhanaprabha has also revealed how he hopes to take the Championship outfit forward beyond the hearing, even if it means a points deduction comes for the East Midlands outfit.

"Going forward, we have to find a new CEO," Khun Top added.

"I’m trying, a new commercial director should be appointed soon, and a sporting director to help John (Rudkin). After that, I need to put myself in a lot more."

Leicester City PSR worries have hit Foxes hard in transfer window

Leicester are vying to return to the Premier League, but their financial situation means that they must focus on reducing their wage bill, rather than adding quality to their ranks that can help them climb into the play-off places.

Consequently, the Foxes have not made any additions in the winter transfer window, while Belgium defender Wout Faes has joined Monaco on loan from the Championship side.

Leicester's lack of transfer activity means that they are unlikely to beat the likes of Bristol City, Watford, and Preston North End in the race to depose clubs such as Millwall and Wrexham from their current top-six status.

Srivaddhanaprabha's admissions will concern the Foxes faithful, while upcoming clashes with fellow play-off outsiders Birmingham City and Southampton, followed by encounters with promotion contenders Stoke City and Middlesbrough, could also spell trouble.

Meanwhile, Leicester have eyed a move to appoint Russell Martin as their new boss, even though his recent spell in the Scottish Premiership with Rangers was largely disastrous, with the likes of ex-Foxes defender Gary Rowett and Hearts manager Derek McInnes also linked.

Furthermore, Martin may find it difficult to establish promotion credentials with the Foxes as owner Srivaddhanaprabha continues to contend with PSR concerns that are having a detrimental effect on transfer activity.
