Iñaki Williams has rejoined Athletic’s pre-season, returning to training on Monday after a short break following Ghana’s World Cup campaign.

According to El Correo, the forward completed his routine medical on eight July, the first day of Edin Terzic’s tenure at Lezama, then took almost three weeks off after Ghana’s last 32 defeat to Colombia.

He lightened the mood, joking it felt like going back to school as he stepped onto the Lezama pitch.

His return is the main change in week four of pre-season, and the German coach could also have Vivián and Gorosabel back from knocks.

Athletic face Racing de Santander on Wednesday in their toughest friendly so far, then visit Burgos on Saturday. The level rises further with trips to Olympique de Marseille on nine August and Atalanta on 14 August.
