Iñigo Córdoba says Castellón are a club on the rise | OneFootball

Iñigo Córdoba has called CD Castellón a club on the up as the team begin pre-season training on Monday following recent medical and fitness tests. According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, the 29-year-old winger delivered his first remarks at Ciudad Deportiva La Coma after meeting his new team-mates.

Córdoba has close to 100 top-flight appearances, mostly for Athletic with some at Alavés, and honed his attacking game in the Eredivisie before two seasons in Segunda with Burgos.

He praised Castellón’s clear ideas and identity, saying they are central and should not be lost. Having faced the orellut surge in recent years, especially at SkyFi Castalia, he recalled suffering defeat there and noted how the stadium presses and connects with the team.

He added that, if things fall into place, this season could go as well as last. Castellón’s first friendly is set for 18 July against CE Sabadell at La Coma, kick-off 19.00.

After early renewals, season-ticket numbers are nearing 5,000. Online renewals run until 26 July, while in-person renewals open on Monday morning at SkyFi Castalia and remain available until 24 July for over 65s and large families.
