Jude Bellingham finally decided to undergo surgery on his bothersome shoulder this summer, shortly after Real Madrid’s exit from the FIFA Club World Cup.
The England international had been struggling with the shoulder issue since late 2023 but kept playing with discomfort while opting for conservative treatment.
However, the midfielder decided it was time for him to take care of the issue once and for all and underwent an operation last month, ruling him out of action for an extended period.
Bellingham has missed both of Real Madrid’s La Liga matches in the new season, with Xabi Alonso opting for a midfield trident of Federico Valverde, Arda Guler, and Aurelien Tchouameni.
Initial reports put Bellingham’s potential return somewhere around late October or early November, meaning he would end up missing the first La Liga El Clasico of the season.
However, according to journalist Ruben Martin, the 22-year-old talismanic midfielder’s recovery is progressing very well.

Given the way things are going, Bellingham is pushing to make himself available earlier than initially anticipated.
The former Borussia Dortmund ace is targeting a comeback in early October, even before the second international break of the new season.
However, Real Madrid are erring on the side of caution and do not want to take any risks by rushing their ace midfielder back into action.
So, it remains to be seen if the timeframe for Bellingham’s return from the shoulder injury is shortened eventually.
But for now, things are progressing very well and the midfield star is aiming for a comeback in early October.
