Instituto 3B, Ação and Sport reach Brasileirão Feminino A2 second phase

With the end of the penultimate round of the first stage of the Brasileirão Women’s A2, Instituto 3B, Ação, and Sport secured qualification for the competition’s quarterfinals. Besides these teams, Vasco, Itabirito, Minas Brasília, and Atlético-PI have also already advanced to the next stage of the tournament. The last spot will be filled by Taubaté or Pérolas Negras, the only two teams still with a chance of moving on.

RESULTS OF THE 14TH ROUND

SPOTS SECURED

Instituto 3B thrashed UDA 4-0 at Carlos Zamith, in Manaus (AM), reaching 23 points and moving into 5th place. In 6th place with 22 points, Ação drew 2-2 with Paysandu at Modelão, in Castanhal (PA). At Ilha do Retiro, in Recife (PE), Sport beat Atlético Rio Negro 2-0 to stay in 7th place, with 21 points.

LAST CHANCE

The final quarterfinal spot in the Brasileirão Women’s A2 has only two eligible contenders: Taubaté, in 8th place with 18 points, and Pérolas Negras, in 9th with 17 points.

In the 14th round, Pérolas Negras were defeated 1-0 by already-qualified Atlético-PI at Lindolfo Monteiro, in Teresina (PI).

Taubaté, meanwhile, thrashed Doce Mel 4-0 away from home at Waldomiro Borges, in Jequié (BA).

OTHER RESULTS

In addition to Atlético-PI, who are in 4th place in the table, three other teams have already secured their places in the second stage of the competition: Vasco, Minas Brasília, and Itabirito.

First- and third-placed Vasco da Gama and Minas Brasília respectively drew 2-2 at Nivaldo Pereira, in Nova Iguaçu (RJ).

Itabirito, the runners-up, thrashed Itacoatiara, the bottom team in the competition, 9-0. The match took place at Campo Usina Esperança, in Itabirito (MG).

With no chance of advancing but far from relegation, Vila Nova and Ceará faced each other at OBA, in Goiânia (GO). On that occasion, Tigrão won 1-0.
