Inter have begun laying the groundwork for a busy end to the season and an even busier summer, holding a recruitment meeting at club headquarters involving head coach Cristian Chivu, senior executives and ownership representatives.
According to CalcioMercato, the meeting, held at Viale della Liberazione, was not driven by urgency or panic with the January window nearing its close, but rather by alignment.
The club wanted a clear picture of Chivu’s immediate technical needs, while ownership outlined how short-term decisions must fit within a broader, sustainable plan.

The message from ownership was consistent: every investment made now has a knock-on effect on the summer. Inter are prepared to act when necessary, but resources must be created and protected, not exhausted.
Exceptions remain possible if the squad requires them, but balance remains central to the strategy.
A significant part of the discussion focused on the looming summer transition. Several senior players are approaching contract expiry, while others may seek new challenges or attract outside interest.

The club are aware that continuity has been a strength in recent seasons, but also accept that change is unavoidable and must be managed carefully.
From Chivu’s perspective, the most immediate request remains clear: Inter need cover on the right flank.
The coach reiterated his belief that an experienced option could help stabilise the squad in the short term, with the possible return of Ivan Perisic viewed positively.
Beyond January, the focus will shift to defining a realistic budget and identifying profiles that fit Inter’s next cycle.
