Inter are reportedly hoping to launch a new B Team to rival the likes of Juventus, Milan and Atalanta and have already gone as far as identifying a potential stadium for the upcoming U23 project according to Thursday’s reports.
Inter are hoping to become the fourth professional side in Italy to launch a new ‘B Team’, which would compete in the Serie C divisions. Juventus Next Gen were the first established U23 side in Serie C, followed by Milan Futuro and Atalanta U23 last summer.
Oaktree, who took control of the Nerazzurri at the end of the 2023-24 season, have reportedly been pushing for the creation of a B Team to provide opportunities for youth team players and to get them ready for playing in Simone Inzaghi’s 3-5-2 system.
According to page 25 of Thursday’s edition of Tuttosport, the Stadio Comunale di Venegono has been identified as a possible venue for the U23 fixtures when the new team is established.
The ground is located around 35km away from Milan, but its capacity of around 700 makes it a decent fit for the new side, and the ground is already approved for use in Serie C.
The new Inter U23 side will reportedly train on an artificial pitch at Interello, the training base for the Nerazzurri youth and women’s teams.
