Last night, Lionel Messi left his Inter Miami teammates early during the Leagues Cup clash against Necaxa. The Argentine star picked up an injury.

Messi was forced off during his side's qualification match against Mexican club Necaxa in the Leagues Cup. Lionel Messi had to leave the pitch after a collision with Necaxa defender Alexis Pena. The former PSG player received treatment on his right thigh before being substituted after just 11 minutes of play.

"He felt some discomfort. But we won't know the extent of his injury until tomorrow (Sunday). There's definitely something, but maybe it's not too serious because he wasn't in real pain. Still, he felt something," said Miami head coach Javier Mascherano.

It's worth noting that Inter Miami came out on top. They claimed a 5-4 victory in the penalty shootout (2-2 after regular time).
