Inter Miami have signed Brazilian international Casemiro, a five-time UEFA Champions League winner, on a free transfer, the club said in a statement. He is contracted until the end of the 2027 MLS Sprint Season, with an option through June 2029, pending receipt of his P-1 Visa.
Casemiro said winning and growth drive him and that the project and effort to bring him to Miami meant a lot. He expressed gratitude and aims to repay the club’s trust in training and on matchdays.
Managing owner Jorge Mas said the signing underlines Inter Miami’s ambition to raise standards and become a global benchmark. He cited Casemiro’s leadership, winning mentality and pedigree, and welcomed him to the club.
Co-owner David Beckham said he has long admired Casemiro, calling him a winner after an illustrious career with Real Madrid and Manchester United. He said he is delighted the midfielder has chosen Miami as his next home.
Raised at São Paulo, he joined Real Madrid in 2013 and became integral during a trophy-laden spell. He made 336 appearances, scored 31, added 29 assists and won 18 major trophies, including five Champions Leagues.
In 2022 he joined Manchester United, winning the League Cup and FA Cup. For Brazil he has 91 caps, won the 2019 Copa América and played at the 2018, 2022 and 2026 World Cups, scoring in the Round of 32 and assisting in the Round of 16 in 2026. Inter Miami also acquired his Discover Priority from LA Galaxy.
