Signing top players is often a complicated issue for MLS clubs due to roster compliance rules. However, if Inter Miami can sign Casemiro, then it would be too good an opportunity to miss.

Casemiro is already set to leave Manchester United when his contract expires at the end of June. He would see out United's Premier League campaign, which looks set to end in Champions League qualification. The Brazilian would then be a free agent and be available to join Miami.

The midfielder has been linked with Miami, but also the LA Galaxy. There is also interest from other European teams such as Inter Milan and his former club FC Porto. The riches of Saudi Arabia could also tempt him with a possible move to Al-Ittihad, who currently have his Brazil teammate Fabinho. A return to his homeland could also be on the cards for Casemiro as São Paulo is also interested.

Casemiro will have options, but Miami is surely one of the most tempting opportunities. After playing against Lionel Messi many times in El Clásico, it could be time for the former Real Madrid and Barcelona players to reunite.

Miami already has Rodrigo de Paul in midfield, but Casemiro could slot in alongside him nicely in a more defensive role.

The midfielder may now be 34, but he is still a key part of Carlo Ancelotti's Brazil squad. He will also be set to play in the World Cup, which is being co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada this summer. The Seleção are in a group with Morocco, Haiti, and Scotland.

Casemiro had a mixed start to his United career after having so much success at Real Madrid. However, he became a key player, helping the Red Devils win the FA Cup, EFL Cup, and reach the Europa League final.

Despite his age, the Brazilian has played in 31 Premier League games this season, scoring eight goals and providing two assists, which is very good for a defensive midfielder.

Casemiro is a winner, and Miami could do with a replacement in the holding midfield role since Sergio Busquets' retirement. Javier Mascherano has recently departed the club as manager, with Guillermo Hoyos in caretaker charge. It would be expected that whoever Miami's next permanent manager is would want a player of Casemiro's experience in their roster. The Herons are currently second in the Eastern Conference after eight MLS games.
