Inter Milan star Marcus Thuram believes his side did not deserve a 3–1 defeat to Arsenal last night.
During a post-match interview via FCInterNews, Ticus delivered his verdict on the game.
Losses in high-profile fixtures have become a common theme for Inter at the beginning of Cristian Chivu’s regime.
Indeed, the 45-year-old manager has yet to taste victory in a high-stakes clash this season.
However, last night’s defeat could prove particularly problematic.
With 15th-placed Barcelona only two points behind, Inter could miss out on a top-eight finish in the Champions League.
Furthermore, it could also derail Inter’s spirits ahead of the upcoming Serie A clash against Pisa.
Meanwhile, Marcus Thuram refuses to let another underwhelming performance dampen his optimism.
Despite losing by a multi-goal margin, the Frenchman is adamant that the scoreline did not reflect the gap between the teams.

“The details made a big difference,” Thuram insisted after the game. “I didn’t see such a gap in quality between them and us.
“But in the end, the result is what it is.”
However, he conceded that the Gunners were more aggressive than Inter.
“I’ll watch the match again, but they were a bit more aggressive than us, and that made the difference,” the 28-year-old added.
“The Champions League is made up of tough games.”
Though Inter’s top-eight pursuit took another hit, there’s no time to dwell on the past.
Indeed, the Nerazzurri will take on Pisa in a must-win Serie A clash on Friday.
Then, they’ll face Borussia Dortmund in a pivotal Champions League showdown at Signal Iduna Park next week.
“For now, we’re focusing on Friday, and then Dortmund will be like a final,” Thuram claimed.
“When you play for Inter, the least you can do is try to go as far as possible in every competition.”
