Inter Milan dynamic duo Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram engineered an emphatic 5-2 Serie A win over Roma last night.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via L’Interista, the Thu-La duo stole the show at San Siro, as Inter finally returned to winning ways.
Winless in three consecutive league games for the first time in three years, the Nerazzurri were desperate to take three points against Gian Piero Gasperini’s side.
Meanwhile, the long-awaited return of Lautaro Martinez came at a perfect moment, as El Toro registered his first Serie A start since February.
Furthermore, El Toro reigned supreme on his return from injury, scoring on either side of halftime, including a first-minute opener.
Marcus Thuram set up his attacking partner for both goals.
More importantly, the 28-year-old Frenchman returned to the scoreboard for the first time since the beginning of February.
Indeed, Thuram’s last Serie A goal came in a 5-0 thumping of Sassuolo two months ago.
However, the French striker delivered a vintage performance last night, earning the ‘Man of the Match’ award.
As a result, Cristian Chivu’s men have re-established a comfortable nine-point lead over AC Milan at the top of the Serie A table.
