Inter Milan and Atalanta have reached another stalemate in their tumultuous talks for Ademola Lookman after a bombshell week.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that things have quieted down as Inter wait to launch another bid.

The transfer soap opera between Inter, Atalanta, and Ademola Lookman has dominated the headlines over the last week.

The Nigerian international very publicly demanded a transfer to Atalanta last weekend. This after Atalanta had rejected a second offer from the Nerazzurri.

Then, Lookman took things a step further. The 27-year-old – who had already scrubbed all traces of Atalanta from his social media accounts – began no-showing training.

There’s no indication that Lookman plans to return to training for Atalanta.

The player is determined to force through the move to Inter, as he believes that La Dea had promised as much last summer.

After the fiery developments of the last week, however, the situation has cooled down.

The Gazzetta dello Sport report that right now, there are no big changes to the Lookman saga.

The newspaper do anticipate that Inter plan to make another offer for the Nigerian.

The Gazzetta expect that Inter could offer €45 million as a fixed amount, plus €5 million in relatively easily-achievable add-ons.

However, the Nerazzurri are waiting for the signal from Atalanta.

So far, La Dea have yet to give a price tag or counteroffer to their Lombard rivals. They appear to be waiting patiently for tempers to cool down.

Therefore, it could be a few days before Inter and Atalanta return to the negotiating table.
