Lautaro Martinez was named Panini Player of the Match after Inter’s 3-1 victory over Bologna at San Siro, a performance that saw the captain score the decisive second goal and lead by example on a night that carried particular weight for the Nerazzurri.
Speaking to DAZN after the match, via FCInterNews, Lautaro admitted the team felt a sense of redemption after several difficult encounters with Bologna in recent years.
“I said it before the match, we prepared a game plan that worked out really well,” the Inter captain explained.
“We started very strongly, putting Bologna under pressure immediately after losing the ball. That forced them to go long, and we were good at winning it back and going straight forward. From there, the chances came.”

Lautaro stressed that the result mattered just as much as the performance, underlining Inter’s mentality in big league matches.
“We’re happy because we got three points, and for us they’re always important,” he said, pointing to the consistency required at the top end of the table.
The Argentine also brushed aside concerns over a painful knock picked up during the game, showing his usual resilience.
“It hurts, but you bandage it up and carry on,” Lautaro said. “The important thing is that we won. I’m going home happy.”
Finally, the Inter skipper reserved special praise for Marcus Thuram, whose goal and emotional celebration were a key moment of the night.
Lautaro made it clear that the French forward’s form is the result of sustained effort behind the scenes.
“He deserves it, he works so hard,” he said. “Everyone gives their best for the team, and he’s worked a lot to be in this shape. I’m happy for him and for all my teammates who work to take Inter to the top, which is what we want.”
