Inter beat Udinese last weekend in Serie A.

And it was an important victory for the Nerazzurri. They needed to get back to winning ways right away after the disappointment of a defeat against AC Milan in the derby.

However, it was not necessarily the most straightforward of wins for Inter.

The three points are ultimately what mattered. But the 3-2 scoreline was a reflection of the fact that the match was perhaps more open than Inter would have wanted.

Inter Coach Inzaghi: “We Need To Concede Fewer Goals” Ahead Of Torino Clash

The goals that Inter conceded against Udinese were the result of carelessness as much as anything. Both on an individual level and as a team.

That has been something of a theme early on in this season.

Inter have not allowed that many chances in most of their matches.

But against the likes of Genoa and Monza, Inter conceded from chances where their opposition looked sharper than them in their own penalty area.

And the goals that Inter conceded in those matches proved to be costly, as they dropped points.

Now, Inter face Torino. The Granata will certainly be formidable opposition – like Inter, they are on eleven points in the table at the moment.

But Inter will have to try to stay switched-on in order to keep Torino at bay.

“We know that we’re up against an opponent with quality,” Inzaghi said.

“The match they lost last Sunday was their first loss of the season.”

“We will try and get the match off to a strong start,” the Inter coach said.

“We have to give continuity to the last couple of wins,” he added.

Inzaghi said of Inter’s defensive record this season that “I start with the assumption that the whole team must do the out-of-possession phase at our best.”

“With allowing the opponents anything or conceding goals.”

“We kept a clean sheet on Tuesday,” Inzaghi noted. Inter kept Red Star Belgrade from scoring in their Champions League match earlier this week.

“And we have to keep going from there.”
