Inter Milan are seen as favourites to sign Ivan Provedel from Lazio as his future nears a decision. According to The Laziali, the Nerazzurri are confident about landing the goalkeeper this summer.
Lazio and the 32-year-old are due to meet this week to discuss an expected exit, with his contract running until June 2027, a factor that could push a sale in this window.
Provedel has been first choice since joining from Spezia in summer 2022. He briefly ceded the shirt to Christos Mandas late in the 2024/25 campaign, before Maurizio Sarri restored him after returning last summer.
In March he sustained a season-ending shoulder injury that required surgery. During his absence, 21-year-old Edoardo Motta impressed, notably in the Coppa Italia semi-final shootout against Atalanta.
Lazio could now back Motta or reinstate Mandas, who returns from an unsuccessful loan at Bournemouth, which may leave Provedel surplus to requirements.
Inter are keeping close tabs and view the experienced keeper as the ideal partner for new No.1 Josep Martinez following Yann Sommer’s departure.
Before injury, Provedel kept 11 clean sheets in 27 Serie A matches this season. He recorded 21 shutouts in 2022/23, equalling the Serie A benchmark held by Gianluigi Buffon and Morgan De Sanctis.
