Inter Milan are searching for a Perisic-like profile as uncertainty surrounds Denzel Dumfries, with the club focusing on a very specific type of reinforcement rather than the many names circulating in recent weeks.

According to Pasquale Guarro on calciomercato.com, Inter’s shortlist for the right flank is far narrower than public speculation suggests. While numerous players have been linked, most are considered little more than suggestions rather than concrete targets.

Guarro explains that expectations around Oaktree remain high, particularly following Dumfries’ injury, which is set to keep the Dutch wing-back sidelined until March.

In that context, it is natural to assume that Cristian Chivu could ask for reinforcements, especially given that Luis Henrique has yet to perform at the level required by Inter despite seven months at the club.

Several reported targets have already been ruled out. Raoul Bellanova “is not an objective for Inter,” Guarro notes, while Brooke Norton-Cuffy “has never been a target either.”

However, attempting a deal now could cost close to €40m, making it “very difficult to complete.”

Instead, Inter’s thinking centres on a clear identity.

“Keeping the squad’s shortcomings in mind, what Inter are looking for is a Perisic-type profile,” Guarro writes.

“A player with a powerful engine, the technical quality to play as a winger and beat his man. But also the physical and athletic traits to cover the entire flank. It’s not easy to find, without a doubt.”

Instead, with a versatile, high-intensity wide player capable of shaping the flank on his own.
