Inter Milan have held a “positive” round of contract talks with defender Yann Bisseck.

This according to Italian transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, via FCInterNews. He reports that the Nerazzurri are aiming to extend the German’s contract until the end of June 2029.

Inter signed Bisseck in the summer of 2023. They brought him in from Danish club Aarhus.

Bisseck was certainly not a household name when he arrived at the Nerazzurri.

And it did take a few months for the young German to start to establish a place for himself in the Inter lineup.

But a run of fixtures in the winter saw Bisseck start to really earn the trust of Inter coach Simone Inzaghi.

By the end of last season it was clear that Bisseck was a regular part of the first team plans for Inzaghi.

And so it has proven at the start of this season. Bisseck has made several starts already this season. This included in a high profile Champions League match against Manchester City.

And when Bisseck has not started, he has often come off the bench as a substitute in matches.

The 23-year-old has frequently alternated with Benjamin Pavard on the right of Inter’s back three. But he has also proven adept at playing on the left of the defensive line.

When Bisseck joined Inter, he signed a five-year deal until the end of June 2028.

That is the contract that the German is still on.

However, Inter are thinking about bumping that up.

Given Bisseck’s form, it is little surprise that the defender has attracted some transfer interest. Clubs ranging from West Ham United to Real Madrid reportedly see him as a target.

Therefore, Inter will want to ward off such interest by securing Bisseck’s future with a new deal.

Moreover, Bisseck would naturally receive a significant pay increase to reflect his growing status in the first team.

Di Marzio reports that Inter have already held talks with the 23-year-old’s representatives.

He characterizes the talks as having been “positive.”

The idea that Inter and Bisseck’s representatives have been discussing is a new five-year contract expiring at the end of June 2029.
