Internazionale honoured Adriano on social media on Wednesday 11 after the Flamengo academy graduate visited the club’s trophy room to revisit his Nerazzurri achievements.

The club said in a post that he admired the display at headquarters and reflected on four Scudetti, two Coppa Italias and three Italian Super Cups won in Inter colours.

The tribute also highlighted the Santiago Bernabéu Trophy, lifted in Madrid in summer 2001 with an outstanding free-kick, a moment it presented as the first glimpse of the future Emperor’s talent.

Adriano’s Inter journey began in 2001, when Flamengo accepted a deal to bring in Vampeta that involved Reinaldo moving to Paris Saint-Germain, only in 2002, and Adriano joining Internazionale. He returned to Flamengo in 2009.

On Friday 6, after an invitation from the Brazilian Olympic Committee to attend the Winter Games opening ceremony, he visited Inter’s training centre in Milan.

Flamengo, the club that brought him through, face Botafogo on Sunday 15 at 17:30 Brasília time in the Campeonato Carioca quarter-finals.
