Inter Milan hope to have wingback Denzel Dumfries back for the first leg of their Champions League semifinal tie against Barcelona.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They report that the Dutchman is aiming to return either against Roma or against Barcelona.

Inter Milan wingback Denzel Dumfries has been absent since the international break.

The Dutchman is currently recovering from a thigh problem that he picked up during a Serie A clash with Atalanta just before the break.

Dumfries has missed matches against Udinese, Parma, and Cagliari in Serie A. He has also missed the Coppa Italia semifinal first leg against AC Milan, and both legs against Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

And Dumfries will miss at least a couple more matches, reports Sky.

The broadcaster anticipate that the 28-year-old will be out for this weekend’s Serie A match away to Bologna. And he will also miss the second leg against Milan in the Coppa Italia.

However, a return for Denzel Dumfries may not be too much further on the horizon.

According to Sky, Dumfries could aim to be back in the squad for Inter’s last Serie A month of April. They host Roma on the 27th.

And if not then, Sky anticipate, the Dutchman should likely be ready for the first leg of Inter’s Champions League semifinal tie against Barcelona.
