Alessandro Bastoni has received some criticism for his careless display in yesterday’s Serie A derby between AC Milan and Inter Milan.
Today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, argue that the 25-year-old was far from his best in the 1-1 draw.
Bastoni was in the Inter starting eleven yesterday against Milan. That was, of course, no surprise – he is the outfield player to have featured the most for Inter this season.
And more often than not, Alessandro Bastoni has made clear why he is so important for the Nerazzurri.
But that was not so much the case yesterday.
Bastoni eventually got substituted off. This followed a yellow card that he received for a blatant professional foul.
But even before that, the Italian international had given Inter coach Simone Inzaghi little reason not to take him off.

Normally, Alessandro Bastoni is a key player for Inter in possession.
However, there were few telling moments from the 25-year-old yesterday.
Bastoni did not come up with any particularly useful deliveries into the penalty area. And he did not really manage to push forward and combine with teammates.
Defensively, meanwhile, the Italian international was fine, particularly with one last-ditch clearance.
