Inter Milan stalwart Nicolo Barella heaped praise on Cristian Chivu in the build-up to tonight’s Derby della Madonnina.
During the club’s Matchday Programme via FCInter1908, Barella addressed several exciting topics, including Chivu’s early impact at San Siro.
Despite being relatively new to senior management, Cristian Chivu has earned a chance to coach the Nerazzurri this season.
More importantly, the 45-year-old has seized the opportunity, achieving impressive results during the early stages of his tenure.
Indeed, Inter entered the November international break as joint pacesetters in Serie A, alongside Roma.
Furthermore, they remain one of only three sides with a flawless record after the opening four Champions League rounds.
Therefore, Inter will meet bitter rivals AC Milan in high spirits tonight, looking to extend a two-point gap between the sides.
As one of the most influential figures in the dressing room, Nicolo Barella will be one of the leaders on the pitch.

“I immediately appreciated his humanity in understanding our situation at first,” Barella stated. “As well as his strength and desire to make us think about the future.
“That really impressed me. I believe his greatest quality is the empathy he has with the players.
“He’s someone you can deeply respect but also always discuss things with.”
Asked about his personal progress, Barella replied: “I’ve always been very determined.
“When I was younger, that grit helped me stand out and make my way.
“Compared to a few years ago, today – thanks to the experience I’ve gained over the years – I’ve developed awareness.
“I play with the same enthusiasm but more serenity, and that makes me proud of the journey I’ve taken.”
Meanwhile, he admitted he would ‘borrow’ some qualities from his teammates.
“I would take many things from many teammates. From Acerbi, his mentality, his will to never give up, and to always stay focused.
“From Thuram, his smile, his zest for life, and his ability to spread joy.
“And from Calha, his shooting… and I could go on.”
Finally, he revealed what motivates him ahead of high-stakes games, such as the one tonight.
“Experience helps you play with more calmness and awareness, but the adrenaline is always there.
“When you enter San Siro and already during warm-up hear the decibels rising, that’s something that always gives you goosebumps.”
