Inter Milan legend Aldo Serena has urged the club to make an audacious summer swoop for Juventus defender Gleison Bremer.
Speaking to La Repubblica via FCInterNews, Serena discussed Inter’s potential moves in the upcoming transfer window.
The Nerazzurri could reluctantly part ways with long-serving stalwart Alessandro Bastoni in the coming months.
Indeed, the 26-year-old sits at the top of Barcelona’s shopping list amid an uncertain future in Serie A.
Despite his indispensable status at San Siro, the Italian center-back’s life in Italy has become untenable.
Therefore, he could ask for a sale in the summer, with Los Blaugranas ready to offer him an escape route from his homeland.
Meanwhile, Bastoni’s potential exit would be a massive blow for Inter.
Replacing a player of his quality won’t be straightforward, and Serena believes Gleison Bremer would be a perfect addition.
However, convincing Juventus to sell their best defender could be easier said than done.
Asked where Inter’s revolution should start, Serena replied: “With a fast defender, especially if Bastoni leaves, and a top-level centre-back.
“Bremer would be an exceptional signing, and Kim is also a good option: that’s the standard they need to aim for.
“The goalkeeper? They need someone strong and ready. Vicario would be fine. He’s coming off a complicated season, it’s true, but not through his own fault.
“Moving from Tottenham’s defense to Inter’s would give him extra energy.
“Thuram has had a dip in form, but he’s back to being himself. It’s all about mutual confidence. I have no doubts about the others, Bonny included.
“If possible, I would add a wildcard, a player like Doué, Kvaratskhelia, Lookman, or Nico Paz. It’s not easy to sign them, but those are the profiles you need.
“Luis Henrique has major defensive shortcomings. Frattesi seems a bit on the fringes of the project; his momentum has faded.
“I would give Diouf another chance: he cost a lot, and after a season spent mostly on the bench, I would risk keeping him.”
