Simone Inzaghi addressed the press after Inter Milan’s comfortable 2-0 win at Feyenoord in last night’s Champions League clash.

During an interview with Sportitalia via FCInterNews, the 48-year-old manager hailed his team’s showing in Rotterdam.

It was always going to be a rough ride for Inter.

Given Feyenoord’s well-documented home prowess, De Kuip has become one of Europe’s fiercest hostile stadiums.

However, Marcus Thuram and Lautaro Martinez silenced the Dutch side’s raucous home support.

Indeed, Inzaghi’s talismanic duo scored while both on the field for the first time in ten months.

Therefore, the defending Serie A champions boast a substantial aggregate lead ahead of next week’s return leg.

Furthermore, Inter’s dominant home form in Europe can only heighten optimism among the Nerazzurri faithful.

Unbeaten at home in the Champions League since September 2022, they’re firmly on course to lock down a quarter-final berth.

“These nights are important, we know the path we’re on,” Inzaghi said. “We listen to just the right amount.

“I have to try to have everyone available because I need everyone.”

However, Inzaghi wants Inter to focus on the upcoming Serie A home match against Monza.

“Right now, I’m thinking about the Champions League. Once we return, we’ll have 48 hours to focus on Monza.

“We like it this way; we’ve been doing this for three and a half years, with opponents trying to make things difficult for us in every match.”

Finally, he hailed El Toro, who became Inter’s all-time top goalscorer in the Champions League yesterday evening.

“I’m very happy for him, he deserves it. He’s our captain, and I’m happy for the whole team.”

Fresh off another dream European night, Inter should meet Monza in a buoyant mood, seeking a way back to winning ways in Serie A.
